Introduction

So, I owe a proper introduction to anyone coming here to see what I'm all about.

My name is Irene. I'm an Atlantic Canadian with a passion for art, illustration, and video games. I go by they/them.

I'm an enormous nerd, as I think most people who pursue the arts and cartooning are. Breath of Fire II was my first experience with games as their own unique narrative. I remember being huddled in the back seat of my father's car, completely lost in the pixelated world before me -- in the brief flashes I could see it as we drove underneath street lights. Whoever invented backlights deserves an award.

I've done concept work here and there for titles that unfortunately never saw the light of day. Such is the life! I've also done freelance QA work here and there.

I write as a hobby! And I'll post excerpts here from time to time. As well as works in progress and anything that doesn't feel as though it belongs on the rest of the portfolio.
